Today was my hardest speed workout of the week. The planned workout was 8 x 400's with an average of 65 seconds each. I had a 400 recovery in between each one, and then any additional walking I needed to get a full recovery. The purpose of this workout is for me to run at my goal mile pace and be able to lock that pace into my legs so that once my stamina can reach that level, my legs will already be ready. I was able to stick very close to on pace, hitting my first 6 in 65 exactly. My seventh was in 66, and I was able to close out running a hard minute flat for the last one. I felt very exhausted after I finished the workout. |
